CPA Registration Information

Please follow the steps below in order to register your group for CPA. Registration will open November 15th, 2024 and will close January 15th, 2025.

Step #1: Fill out a Director’s Cover Form found in your handbook, print it, and get the required signatures. (Each sponsor will need a Cover Form with up to date NAfME membership)

Step #2: Follow this CPA Registration link and complete the online registration for EACH ensemble you are sponsoring. Please answer all questions thoughtfully and thoroughly. While registering read through the CPA and Sight Reading standing rules.

Step #3: Choose a payment option below:

  • Payment Option A: CHECK: Make a check out to SCMEA Orchestra Division for $200 per group and mail it along with your Director’s Cover Form to the Executive Director (scroll for address)
  • Payment Option B: PAYPAL: Pay $200 per group using the Paypal option on this site. Print, scan, and upload the receipt to the CPA Registration form.

The Registration and Postmark deadline is January 15th, 2025. If this date is missed you will be charged $50 per ensemble in late fees. If you have any questions about registration, email Arlyn Mills.

Choosing Pieces – Graded Lists

Director’s must choose both pieces from any state graded list. You are not limited to the following states, if you find your piece on another state list that is ok.

If you can not find a piece on any state list you may apply for it to be approved by the CPA committee using this form: Application to Perform Repertoire not Found on Approved State Lists

**TIP** You can use the Luck’s and JW Pepper sites to search your piece and see if it is found on any state list.

It is very important that you familiarize yourself with the standing rules for both your stage performance and sight reading performance.

Here are the current rubrics for both the Stage and Sight Reading portion of CPA. The CPA Committee will be reviewing these rubrics during 1st semester in hopes to have an updated version for the 2025 Events.
